Epson wins TIPA awards for the ninth year in a row

April 2009

Epson has continued its run of successes at the European Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) Awards with its breakthrough 64 inch eight colour large format printer, the Epson Stylus Pro GS6000, the technically brilliant Epson EH-TW5000 high definition home theatre projector, and the sophisticatedly stylish Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW multifunction printer all winning awards for 2009.

The Stylus Pro GS6000 large format printer was named ‘Best large format printer in Europe for 2009’; The Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW [Australian equivalent model: Epson Stylus Photo TX800FW] was named ‘Best multifunction photo printer’, and Epson’s EH-TW5000 was named ‘Best expert photo projector’.

The Award judges say that only the most innovative products are taken into consideration for the TIPA awards.  Epson has won at least one TIPA Award every year since 2001, at least two every year since 2003, and in 2005 won four awards.

Mike Pleasants, Epson Australia’s Director of Marketing Communications, said Epson is renowned for its groundbreaking imaging products, and its record at TIPA proves that Epson remains at the forefront of developing landmark products that meet customer needs.

Best expert photo projector:  Epson EH-TW5000 high definition home theatre projector

Epson, the long time global market leader in projectors, released the high performance 1080p High Definition [HD] EH-TW5000 home cinema projector in Australia earlier this year with the latest generation of D7 C2Fine LCD panels with larger apertures to increase the native contrast of the projector, a greatly enhanced dynamic contrast ratio of 75,000:1, Epson’s innovative DeepBlack™ technology and new version of Epson’s E-TORL lamp, high speed auto-iris function, Epson’s FineFrame™ interpolation technology to deconstruct and reconstruct the signal from High Definition video sources such as Blu-Ray players for a consistent 1080p frame rate output of up to 120 Hz virtually eliminating flicker and frame–to–frame judder, and a HQV Reon VX video processing chip.

The TIPA judges commented:

Incorporating Epson's innovative 3LCD technology, the EH-TW5000 provides brighter images, more accurate colour reproduction and finer grey scaling than ever before. Epson achieved an amazing dynamic contrast ratio of 75,000:1, thanks to the new D7 C²Fine panels, advanced DeepBlack technology and an improved E-TORL lamp to minimise light leakage and ensure the deepest blacks.
