D&ES takes on Epson’s eco-solvent large format printers for the South Australian sign and display market

March 2012

Sydney 8 March 2012: Epson has appointed Digital & Engraving Solutions as its latest Pro Dealer in South Australia for Epson’s range
of large format eco-solvent printers for the sign and display market.

“With constantly growing demand for our sign and display printers and innovative additions to the range, we are very pleased
to welcome Ross Taarnby and his team as an authorised Epson Pro Dealer,” Epson’s Business Unit Manager, Craig Heckenberg, said.

“We've worked in the sign and display market for 4-5 years and are very excited to be on board with Epson as it shakes up
this market segment with some really great printers and revolutionary inks,” Ross Taarnby, Managing Director of Digital & Engraving Solutions said.

“The market is ready for a new player and everyone knows the quality that Epson produces in the other wide format segments,
so we are expecting good things from the Epson solvent printers too.

“I've already had several enquiries just on the back of the news that we will be handling Epson, so I'm sure when we get
an Epson SureColor SC-30600 here and people can see it and the quality of print they will be quite keen to have one,” Ross said.

Epson released the SureColor SC-S30600, a 64-inch (162.6cm), four-colour (CMYK), eco-solvent roll-fed printer in February
to strong demand from the sign and display market segment, following on from the success of the Epson Stylus® Pro GS6000.

Epson’s new generation UltraChrome GS2 eco-solvent ink set uses a uniquely formulated solvent ink chemistry developed by
Seiko Epson engineers that is nickel-free and has fewer harmful VOC (volatile organic compounds) than other solvent based inks.
Prints made with this revolutionary solvent ink are virtually odourless, eliminating the need for expensive ventilation and air purification
systems to protect the operators.
