MatrixCCD with Micro Lens - the PERFECTION 3200 PHOTO's advanced 3200dpi main scanning ability is achieved by utilising a MatrixCCD (Charge Coupled Device) and a new Micro Lens. The use and precise positioning of these devices combine to deliver superb light sensitivity that is critical in very high resolution scanning. Adding further to the scanner's performance is Micro Step Drive (sub-scanning) technology for ultra high precision 6400dpi micro steps.
Fast Scanning - consistent high speed scanning of film and reflective documents is one of the PERFECTION 3200 PHOTO's outstanding features. Rather than rely on the PC's processor and memory, the scanner utilises a dedicated on-board ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) to process images.
