Epson demonstrates PrecisionCore, Signage and Décor, Fabric and Merchandise, Posters and Graphics and Garment Decoration Solutions at Visual Impact 2014

September 2014

Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, 9-11 September on stand B8

SYDNEY, 28 August 2014 – Epson will be presenting unique live demonstrations of the very latest in sign and display solutions on stand B8 at this year’s Visual Impact Show. For the first time at Visual Impact Epson will have a range of printing solutions that incorporate the company’s revolutionary PrecisionCore MicroTFP print chip which offers vastly improved performance compared to conventional piezo printheads, including faster speeds and more accurate dot placement. In addition there will be displays involving the company’s new SureColor T7200D dual roll aqueous poster printer, SureColor F7100 64" dye sublimation printer, SureColor F2000 Direct to Garment printer and SureColor S50600 64" eco-solvent printer.

Epson’s Visual Impact stand features four main sign and display demo areas. The first is for posters and graphics solutions and features their new SureColor T7200D 44" dual roll aqueous poster printer. The SureColor T7200D is part of Epson’s SureColor Technical series designed for users who need to produce large-format images, economically at high speed and are ideal for maps, plans, drawings, schematics, geological survey diagrams, sales presentations, posters and displays. The SC-T7200D features Epson’s latest PrecisionCore™ print head and aqueous UltraChrome® ink chemistry. It will print an B0 image in as little as 70 seconds with output that dries almost instantly to be water and rub resistant. The SC-T7200D is extremely cost-effective to run, with low power and low ink consumption. The printer features all front loaded consumables with dual rolls, a small footprint, and support for installation against a wall or in a corner. It ships with a suite of software that enables easy printing from office and CAD/GIS applications complete with job costing and remote management facilities. An optional HDD is available for efficient workgroup operation with print server and reprint functionality. The printer can be ordered with an optional, high-speed Postscript® module for design and poster work, and a wide format scanner for full MFP scan, copy and document sharing functionality.

Epson’s second demonstration area involves fabric and merchandise solutions and in particular those using the SureColor F7100 64" dye sublimation printer. The SureColor Fabric DS series represents a revolution in dye sublimation printing. Designed from the ground up for sublimation, it provides an imaging platform for garments, sportswear, soft-signage and promotional items. The SC-F7100 combines Epson's latest PrecisionCore™ print head with UltraChrome® DS ink, a Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS), a 64" print engine, Auto Tension Control (ATC), media output heater and a high precision Auto Take-Up. The head enables high resolution output with precise dot sizing, placement and ink density management. The ink supports a wide range of industry standard transfer media with output that is not only cost-effective but has predictable colour with a high dMax and extended Gamut. The engine and supply system facilitate continuous production at speeds up to 58.9m2/hr with sheet and roll based output. The media output heater ensures rapid drying while the ATC and ATU work together to ensure output rolls are compatible with high performance calendar style transfer equipment. The Auto Take-Up (ATU) ensures output rolls are compatible with high performance calendar style transfer equipment.

Epson’s third demonstration area at Visual Impact features garment decoration solutions and their new SureColor F2000 Direct to Garment (DTG) printer which is part of the revolutionary SureColor Fabric series designed from the ground up to ensure superior quality, performance, and reliability when imaging on cloth, garments, and merchandise. The SC-F2000 is a DTG printing platform for work involving cotton-based shirts, caps, bags, and promotional items. Prints can be made to pre-cut fabric or directly onto a finished garment with a heat press then used to 'fix' the dye. It enables production of customised and value-added goods with high impact and good wash/wear durability. Unique to the Epson solution, the printing platform and ink have been developed together. This integrated approach not only ensures exceptional image quality with reduced running costs, but also enhanced mechanical durability with a reduced maintenance burden. The system is quick to install, easy to operate and offers fast, flexible production for low volume applications. The SC-F2000 uses Epson UltraChrome® DG ink along with an advanced PrecisionCore™ print head. The ink provides a significantly enhanced colour range with high brightness, formulated for easy fixing with a flexible and durable finish. The head provides improved resolution and enhanced reliability with precise dot sizing and placement for smooth predictable colour with minimised bleed and ink consumption.

The final demonstration area is signage and décor which will feature the SureColor S50600 64" eco-solvent printer. Known as an extremely fast and flexible printer the SureColor S50600 64" eco-solvent printer has been designed for medium-high volume production of durable display and design material. It can be used with a wide range of media and is suitable for many applications including the production of advertising and POS displays, vehicle wraps, labels, furniture decals and interior/exterior surface finishes. The SC-S50600 uses Epson’s patented Thin Film MicroPiezo™ print heads and pigment based UltraChrome Eco-Solvent ink technology. The printer also features dual print heads, a dual high capacity ink supply, a high speed drying system, adjustable multi-stage media heating, and a super-rigid chassis with advanced media management. By supporting production speeds up to 51.8m2/hr and with its low noise, low power consumption and low odour, the SC-S50600 is suitable for operation in a variety of commercial, business and office environments.
