Epson releases Australia’s fastest A4 workgroup colour laser the Epson AcuLaser C4100.

Sydney 21 October 2003: Epson today released Australia’s fastest A4 workgroup colour laser, the Epson AcuLaser C4100 Colour laser printer, that delivers stunning full colour [and black and white] prints at 24 pages per minute, with a start up time of just 30 seconds and a first page out time of 13.5 seconds.

The key to the Epson AcuLaser C4100’s record speed and outstanding colour quality is the combination of the Epson ESC/Page colour printer language driver and the on-board Epson designed ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) chip.

Epson’s ESC/Page colour printer language provides rapid processing of any print image using the considerable resources and innovative design of the on-board ASIC chip, resulting in faster processing speeds without loss of image output quality.

This means the AcuLaser C4100 delivers 24 pages per minute in full colour and black and white – the first A4 workgroup printer to match mono speeds for colour printing.

The breakthrough speed of the printer is surprising considering the small footprint and A4 form factor. Epson has increased the printing speed by designing a single paper pass for each page of the print job using a new 4-2-1 tandem print engine that minimises the paper path length using intermediate toner transfer rollers.

The Epson AcuLaser C4100 is a fully featured workgroup colour laser printer with an integrated 10/100 base-T network port as standard. It features an integrated duplexing unit, allowing double sided full colour printing straight out of the box, making printing of double sided colour documents a simple one step process.

Users with a range of standard documents that are printed regularly, such as templates, brochures, forms, etc, can add the optional 20GB hard disk drive, which provides secure storage and advanced job management, such as confidential job printing, job storage, reprint and verification, and password initiated print options from selected workgroup stations.

The 500 sheet paper tray can be expanded to 1600 sheets alongside the 100 sheet multipurpose tray. The printer ships with 64MB of RAM as standard that can be upgraded to 1024MB.
