Fly Business Class with the New Epson STYLUS™ C82 Colour Inkjet Printer

November 2002

Sydney 8th November 2002, Epson Australia Limited today announced the release of its new Business class corporate inkjet - the Epson STYLUS™ C82.

The Epson STYLUS™ C82 replaces the C80 and continues to be the perfect heavy workload printer for the small business, SOHO or student users.

Epson have upped the speed on the Epson STYLUS™ C82, delivering up to 22 Pages Per Minute (PPM) in black and white and 11 PPM in colour, while not compromising on quality. The MicroPiezo ™ print head technology continues to outshine the competition, with up to 5760 optimised Dots Per Inch (DPI) using Resolution Performance Management (RPM) technology to ensure colour images are clearer and sharper - even on plain or recycled paper.

The Epson STYLUS™ C82 has been specifically developed to use Epson's new DURABrite™ colour pigment inks.

Epson has engineered a more advanced formula of DURABrite™ INKS. These pigment-based inks are designed to not only produce durable, detailed output on a variety of media, but also offer richer colours and even greater highlight and shadow detail than the previous formula used with the Epson STYLUS™ C80.

Unlike prints from traditional dye-based inks, output from DURABrite™ colour and black inks can be submerged in water without the ink coming off the page. This feature is designed to give creators of fliers, menus, signs, postcards and almost any other printed output the ability to produce documents and images that will withstand damage caused by moisture-based threats such as rain, spills or people with wet hands.

DURABrite™ inks also have a light-resistance rating of up to 80 years on certain specialty media and an unmatched 70-year (1) rating on plain paper, making it possible to safely place prints in areas where light would normally cause images to fade quickly. Bleed-through is reduced since Epson DURABrite™ inks rest on the surface of the paper, which is ideal for applications that require double-sided printing.

With four separate ink cartridges (black, cyan, yellow, magenta), the Epson STYLUS™ C82 allows you to change a single colour at a time as it runs out, delivering cost effectiveness for the user. The black cartridge is larger than the colour cartridges making the printer ideal for the corporate managers office where secure black & white printing on a personal printer is the primary task with the occasional need for high quality colour for presentations or reports.

The Epson STYLUS™ C82's workhorse features include a paper tray that holds up to 150 sheets of 65 GSM paper and the printer comes standard with USB 1.1 (works properly under USB 2.0 environment)and Centronics parallel interfaces. The printer works properly with USB 2.0 based workstations and servers.
