Sydney, 1 February 2012: Epson released today the WorkForce® DS-30 portable colour document scanner with full-function flexibility for business professionals either in the office or on the road.
Designed for business efficiency and productivity, the WorkForce DS-30 is the only business document scanner with both one-touch scan-to-cloud capabilities and built-in TWAIN interface, allowing wide-ranging software compatibility.
Adding to Epson's successful line-up of business document scanners, the WorkForce DS-30 is USB-powered so it works directly from a laptop, has a full range of functions, produces editable text and searchable PDFs; and outstanding images at up to 600 dpi.
With businesses giving more remote access to network files and more automated workflow and records management services to increase productivity, simplex portable scanners are the fastest growing category in the document scanner market because they offer scanning flexibility without compromising functionality or security.
The WorkForce DS-30 in an easy-to-use portable format, including carry bag, enables business professionals to scan, save and send important documents from virtually anywhere at any time, making them more efficient and productive.
Features include Epson's new Document Capture Pro software and a customisable one-touch button allowing users to scan directly to email, FTP, or a specific directory folder, as well as directly to popular cloud services such as SharePoint, Google Docs and Evernote. Up to 30 jobs can be registered for a batch scan, separation, save and transfer, again saving time.
The WorkForce DS-30 scans a variety of paper sizes and types: from documents in A8 to A4 and B5 and other custom sizes, business cards (including embossed card) and rigid ID/licence cards.
Advanced image correction tools, such as removing punch holes, auto-sizing and enhancing text quality or correcting image skew are included in the Document Capture Pro software.
The WorkForce DS-30 is the only portable business document scanner on the market to include both TWAIN and one-touch scan-to-Cloud capabilities.
Inclusion of the TWAIN driver, the industry standard for scanning software, allows the use of customisable software for integration into third-party Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software in virtually any vertical market, such as real estate, healthcare and logistics.
