At the heart of the Epson GT-S50 is its three–line – one each for Red, Green and Blue – optical CCD (Charge–Coupled Device) sensor technology. Incredibly light sensitive, it provides the scanner with the ability to achieve an optical resolution of up to 600dpi (dots per inch) and a massive 48–bit colour depth.
