An amazingly versatile multimedia viewing and playback device, the P-4500 features expanded video code support for formats such as MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4–ASP and Motion JPEG. As well as those formats, the P-4500 is an official DivX Home Theater Profile product, which means it is able to play all version of DivX video, including files with DivX advanced features such as subtitles and the choice of alternate audio tracks.
Adding even further to the powerful video playback and control functionality of the P-4500 is support for 720 x 480 pixels (NTSC) and 720 x 576 pixels (PAL) video formats, which allows the user to view videos formatted for larger screens without any resulting distortion.
Among the various other Video Player–specific functions of the P-4500 are:
- Resume function, enabling the user to power–down the P-4500 during a video playback then resume from the same place
- Frame–by–frame view of the video along with the ability to select individual frames and print 12–frame sequences
- Automatic exposure compensation for easier viewing of videos in bright light conditions
