Embedded within the EMP-6110's firmware is a set of security programs that function as deterrents against any wouldbe thieves.
PowerOn protect: With the EMP-6110's PowerOn Protect function activated, the startup screen prompts the user for a fourdigit password which is entered using the remote controller. If an incorrect password is entered three times in a row, a message is shown for five minutes indicating that the projector is entering "standby". If, after 30 attempts, the correct password has still not been entered, the projector will bar even the password from being entered.
Timer Protect: Similar to the PowerOn Protect function, the Timer Protect function prompts the user for a fourdigit password following the expiration of a preset time limit after initial startup. This feature is of particular value for organisations that rent projectors, enabling them to prevent customers from using the projector after the rental period has expired.
User Logo Protect: The User Logo Protect function ensures that the owner's logo, which is always displayed at startup, can only be changed if the user enters a fourdigit password. This ensures that if the projector is ever stolen, people viewing a presentation will be well aware of the fact.
In addition to the EMP-6110's builtin security measures, the projector features a cable cover that can be locked to the chassis. This hides connected cables and ensures they cannot be tampered with.
