Has facility to scan up to 10x8 transparencies
I have had many scanners over the last 20-30 years and the Epson 800 does what scanners at twice the price do. The price is very reasonable considering its speed and the quality and sharpness is outstanding. My problem now is rescanning old material that had previously been scanned on my existing scanner. The Epson V800 compares more than favourably with a scanner I bought many years ago, which cost me about five times the price and could only scan up to 5x4 transparencies and wasn't able to scan reflective material. I thoroughly recommend the Epson Perfection V800 for all your scanning needs.

Great high-throughput scanner to replace my ancient Coolscan.
Like many of the the other reviews, I have found that I get good image quality, great throughput (I still have 12,000 slides to scan) & the interface id very intuitive.
IMO, the major flaw is the very flimsy retaining fingers of the 35mm slide carrier. They are shiney & look like embedded metal but are in fact very flimsy plastic extensions of the carrier mould. I am a very careful user of such systems & 90% oy my slides are thin Kokachrome cardboard mounts. I have been inserting & removing them carefully but managed to snap off 5 fingers after 6 months use (perhaps 1000 slides) & the carrier is till useable with 1 remaining finger. However, I have now ordered a replacement carrier (not expensive) & expect to switch to that soon.
I understand that including metal spring fingers into the carrier mould would add significantly to the cost but suggest you consider making this an add-on option.
