Mono EcoTank TCO Calculator Methodology
The mono EcoTank total cost of ownership calculator ("TCO Calculator") indicates the total cost of ownership based on the initial purchase cost of hardware plus the on-going costs of ink or toner over a given period. Please note that additional variable costs may influence the total cost of ownership, including but not limited to other consumables, servicing, power consumption and parts replacement.
The comparison models in the TCO Calculator include competitor mono (black & white) laser single function printers (SFPs) and multi-function printers (MFPs). The average selling price of the printers and consumables in AUD ($) was obtained by calculating the average of all models available to compare in the mono EcoTank TCO Calculator. The cost per page was calculated from the consumable selling price divided by the manufacturersâ?T published yield officially disclosed in publicly available information.
The ‘Market Average’ is an overall average figure derived from the average of all competitor models being compared in the mono EcoTank TCO Calculator. All manufacturers’ specifications and performance data was collated from publicly available information including but not limited to manufacturers’ own brochures and websites.
The mono EcoTank TCO Calculator only makes comparisons with the specified Epson mono EcoTank printers and is not intended as a general product comparison tool for other Epson printers.

All consumables yields and pricing data incorporated within the calculations for the mono EcoTank TCO Calculator are based on the manufacturers’ own genuine ink or toner.
Epson and competitors’ bundled toner and ink yields are taken from the manufacturers’ published specifications. If the manufacturer does not publish the bundled yield then it is assumed to be the same yield as the standard capacity genuine OEM replacement cartridge.
The cost savings stated represent the total cost savings for the specified print volume specified by the customer in the mono EcoTank Calculator and are based on the TCO difference between Epson and Competitor values using the following calculation:
- Cost of Hardware plus [[[Average Printer Life x 12 x print volume] - bundled ink] / replacement ink yield] x replacement ink cost
