November 11, 2003: Epson Australia has released the ideal personal colour printer for home and small office use, the Epson STYLUS C83 text and photographic inkjet printer.

The Epson STYLUS C83 is an ideal printer for the home and small office as a fast mono and colour printer for documents, presentations and promotional material, and to print high resolution colour photographs on plain and specialty photo paper.

Capable of printing black text pages at up to 22 pages per minute in black and white and 12 pages per minute in colour, the C83 is a versatile personal printer that meets the needs of the home or busy office.

The Epson STYLUS C83 introduces Epson’s revolutionary DURABrite™ INK in four individual ink cartridges to the personal printer range, making all prints colour fast, water and smudge resistant.

Epson’s DURABrite INK is a highly advanced ink with microfine particle colouring particles smaller than one micron. The microfine particles mean brighter, more vibrant colours not only on speciality papers but also on plain paper.

For outstanding professional looking photographs Epson has also launched DURABrite Photo Paper that is carefully matched with DURABrite INK to deliver photo lab quality in all photo prints.

Using A4 or 100mm x 150mm size Epson DURABrite Photo Paper the C83 will print BorderFree photos up to maximum resolution of 5760 optimised dots per inch using Epson’s Resolution Performance Management Technology.

The Epson STYLUS C83 holds up to 120 sheets of paper for large print runs or big proposals, and with individual ink cartridges for each colour, the Epson Intellidge™ system warns the user to swap out a near empty ink cartridge before starting a large print run and allows the cartridge to be used later for a smaller job – maximising the value in each cartridge.

The Epson STYLUS C83 ships with Epson drivers for MAC OS 9.X, MAC OS x 10.2.X and Windows 95/98/2000/XP/Me and a comprehensive suite of image management software to ensure users get the best and easiest use out of the C83’s photo printing capabilities. Included are Epson PhotoQuicker 3.4 for managing photographic images, and Epson’s Print Image Framer, for printing frames around photos.

The C83 has USB 1.1 and Centronics parallel interfaces and a 12 month return to base warranty as standard with an optional 2 years additional warranty available.
