Epson EMP-S1 sets higher price/performance standards

Sydney June 1 2003, Epson today launched the first multimedia data projector for under $2000 on the Australian market.

At a sizzling $1,999 the Epson EMP-S1 is a feature rich SVGA (800x600 native) projector at a price point that opens up new markets for Epson projectors. With a stylish new chassis, a wide range of input ports and a handy slide out carry handle, the EMP-S1 is the perfect companion for your existing DVD player at home and is ideal for use on the road.

The EMP-S1 has everything you need in an entry-level home cinema projector - easy to use menu, comprehensive range of input support, 1200 ANSI-Lumens brightness and a contrast ratio of 400:1. For the road warrior the EMP-S1 has mobile friendly features such as the 5 second start up time and 20 seconds shutdown cooling period. The EMP-S1 also features keystone correction, a short throw lens distance (1.5m screen size from just 1.8m away) and even allows user selection of 4:3 aspect ratio for PC presentations and 16:9 aspect ratio for watching movies at home after a long day on the road.
