Epson's new lightweight EMP-735 multimedia, ultra-portable wireless projector

March 2003

Sydney 4th March 2003: Epson, the world leader in colour image management, today released the new lightweight EMP-735 multimedia, ultra-portable wireless projector.

Epson's all new EMP-735 wireless projector packs a punch with maximum features, true wireless flexibility and a weight under 2kgs, to be the best value projector on the market - with the best feature set.

At 1.9kg, the EMP-735 stands out in the wireless projector market. But the features don't stop there. Epson have packed the EMP-735 with features you'd expect from a large footprint semi-portable projector with a much larger price tag.

"The EMP-730 is our best selling corporate portable projector, and we've taken the same footprint and added complete wireless and PC-free functionality to the EMP-735", said Bruce Bealby, Projector Business Marketing Manager, Epson Australia.

"The wireless technology built into the EMP-735 is unique to Epson. One of the biggest problems with wireless projectors has been the time lag when presenting. The EMP-735 gets around this by using Epson's client software to speed up the communication between the projector and the PC/Laptop. The results are astounding. Slide to slide movement is nearly instantaneous, and the clarity and colour depth of the EMP-735 are second to none."

The EMP-735 ships with an Epson PCMCIA wireless network card. Users have the option of connecting their computer to the projector via standard 802.11b (WiFi) network. Up to four EMP-735 projectors can be driven by one computer - making the EMP-735 ideal for large conference venues, where more than one projector is required to display the same presentation.

The EMP-735 also supports multiple computer access to the one projector, so that presenter changes are simple and seamless. One presentation ends and the next begins - no need to unplug cables and crawl around under desks or across boardroom tables, simply select the EMP-735's I.P address using the provided PC client software and take control.

Alternatively the user can simply dump their presentation onto a flash or Memorystick™ equipped, type 2.1 PCMCIA card and run the presentation without a PC, making it ideal for road warriors. No need to lug a projector and a laptop from office to office. Simply plug in the power, point the 1.9kg EMP-735 at a wall, and away you go.

The type II slot and Epson's "EasyMP" software also allow the projector to be used as a slide projector as well. Download photos directly from your Digital Still Camera onto a flash card, insert the flash card into your PCMCIA card and slide it into the slot on the EMP-735. Epson's "EasyMP" software is then booted using the wireless remote control and you can view your photos on the projector screen.

EasyMP also allows the user to modify the PowerPoint presentation directly from the flash card, without a computer. Simply access the menu using the projector remote, select the EasyMP software and you can perform PowerPoint functions like moving or deleting slides, or changing slide transitions.

The EMP-735 continues the tradition of the EMP-730. Not only is it STILL the lightest, brightest, feature rich projector on the Australian market, but now it leads in the wireless category as well.

Features include digital zoom, 2000 ANSI Lumens output, on screen menus for optical focus and all the normal I/O ports you would expect from the market's leading projector, make the Epson EMP-735 a welterweight winner in a market filled with heavyweights.

The EMP-735 is available through Epson's audiovisual and volume reseller channels and is brilliant value with a Suggested Street Price of $6,500 ex GST.
