Epson's New Projectors set the standard for performance for IT and Home Cinema

August 2004

Epson New Zealand launches the EMP-S1H and EMP-TW10H

Epson New Zealand have just recently introduced two new multi-purpose projectors designed for both business and home entertainment. The Epson EMP-S1H offers 1,400 ANSI-lumens of brightness, SVGA (800 x 600) native resolution and a contrast ratio of 500:1 for $1999 while the EMP-TW10H delivers 1200 ANSI-lumens, a contrast ratio of 800:1 and Epson's ColorRealityTM Technology at $2499.

Anjna Patel, Marketing Services Manager for Epson New Zealand said:

EMP-TW10H

"With the addition of these new product offerings to our current range of home cinema projectors it further opens up the projection market with improved specification and functionality. The Epson EMP-S1H takes our already successful product offering from 2003 and builds in even greater value for users, making it the best out of the box solution at just $1,999, while the EMP-TW10H puts brilliant colour reproduction at the fingertips of the home cinema enthusiast for just $2,499. Together these two models allow users to enjoy a true big screen cinema experience at home for less than the price of a widescreen TV."

The Epson EMP-S1H delivers increased value and a high level of performance to the cost-conscious presenter. The Epson EMP-S1H uses three Epson LCD panels to project a wide variety of computer and video images with unmatched rich colour reproduction and image quality. Its smooth lines and clever design eliminates light leakage and reduces heat, which contributes to its quiet operation.

Presenters at all levels will find the functionality of the EMP-S1H simply brilliant. The setup is intuitive and simple with its colour-coded connections and convenient control panel design. Additionally, when the power button is pressed, a verification tone lets the presenter know immediately that the power is on, and in about six seconds the projected image will begin to appear on screen allowing users to quickly begin their presentations. Equipped with a monitor-out port, this allows presenters to simultaneously view the content on a separate display device, eliminating the need for presenters to keep looking away from the audience while speaking.

"We've delivered the EMP-S1H without compromising quality in any way - it has the same engineering pedigree as our High End projectors and a feature set that our competitors will find hard to beat. We expect the EMP-S1H to be our most successful entry level projector offering to date," said Anjna Patel.

Backing up the EMP-S1H is the new Epson EMP-TW10H, an enhanced version of the popular EMP-TW10 entry-level home cinema projector also released during 2003. The new projector combines Epson's award-winning ColorRealityTM projection technology with a 16:9 widescreen display, newly modified contrast ratio and increased brightness to provide an improved image, whatever the environment.

The EMP-TW10H has the same attractive features as the original EMP-TW10, but by modifying optical mechanics, Epson has increased the projector's brightness by 200 ANSI lumens to 1,200 ANSI lumens for a more brilliant picture in all viewing environments. The contrast ratio has also been increased to achieve a maximum 800:1 from 700:1, producing sharper, more colourful images that are optimised for movie viewing.

The EMP-TW10H features a 1.54x optical zoom lens that allows users more flexibility in positioning the projector in a variety of room sizes and can project an 80-inch image from only six feet away. With the convenient remote control, the EMP-TW10H lets users choose between specific projection modes that automatically adjust the display to match different room lighting environments. No installation is required to set-up the EMP-TW10H making it easy to connect with both analogue and digital systems, such as a TV/HDTV tuner, DVD player, camcorder, PC or video games consoles such as Xbox and Playstation.
