October 2004: To meet the rapid growth in demand Epson New Zealand has released five new multi functional inkjet printer models that will suit consumer needs from entry level to sophisticated photo enthusiasts.
Epson has targeted the trend towards speed, photo quality output and added features in MFPs including PC-free operation, ensuring benefits for everyone from the first time MFP user to the expert home photo hobbyist.
The new top of the range Epson Stylus Photo RX630 Photo is a mini-photo lab with the world's first MFP PC-free printing from film, and features PC-free copying, scanning and printing. The Epson Stylus Photo RX430, the Epson Stylus CX6500 and the Epson Stylus CX3500 also feature PC-free copying, scanning and printing.
For extra PC-free independence, the Stylus Photo RX630, the Stylus Photo RX430 and the Stylus CX6500 feature built in memory card readers for all popular card formats.
The new multi functional inkjet printers extend Epson's MFP offering to five [as two are upgrades of existing models], at price points and with features that the rapidly growing MFP market is demanding.
With sales of digital cameras and camera phones also growing rapidly all of Epson's MFP range produce excellent quality photo prints on a range of papers.
Epson's five new MFP models have been launched for the Christmas sales period and are available now, with the exception of the Stylus Photo RX630, which will be in stores from mid November.
With a six colour ink set in individual cartridges and a built-in Transparency Unit (TPU) making it the world's first MFP capable of producing prints directly from film without a PC, the Epson Stylus Photo RX630 is perfect for keen photographers and home archivists. It also has a 600mm colour LCD viewer for standalone operating, so PC-free printing, scanning and copying is made much easier.
Other PC-free options on the Stylus Photo RX630 include direct printing from digital cameras and other USB devices and from all popular memory card formats using the built-in card reader. The Stylus Photo RX630 also has an optional Bluetooth pack for remote printing from compatible cameras and mobile phones.
It has a high definition 2400 x 4800dpi matrix CCD(TM) scanner for high quality copying of photos, allowing PC-free scanning directly to memory card and BorderFree copying and photo printing up to A4 size.
The Stylus Photo RX630 uses Epson's new generation long lasting HQ3 dye ink which is water, ozone and light resistant. The Stylus Photo RX630 will have a recommended price of $649.
The Stylus Photo RX430 is the natural companion for users wanting an MFP that produces high quality prints, copies and scans. The Stylus Photo RX430 has direct printing from all popular memory card formats using the built-in card reader, and can create stunning BorderFree copies of photos up to A4 size without the need for a PC.
The Stylus Photo RX430 is an economical home photo lab for photo enthusiasts. The Stylus Photo RX430 has a recommended price of $349.
The Epson Stylus CX6500 uses Epson DuraBrite(TM) pigment ink for highly durable, water and smudge resistant prints, with fade resistance of up to 80 years on Epson Heavyweight Matte Paper. Designed for the home office and small business user the Stylus CX6500 features high resolution printing up to 22ppm black text, with 5760 x 1440 optimised dpi (using Resolution Performance Management Technology).
The Stylus CX6500 has direct printing from all popular memory card formats using the built-in card reader, and can create stunning BorderFree copies of photos up to A4 size without the need for a PC. It is priced at $449.
The Epson Stylus CX3500 is perfect for home users looking for an affordable mid range multi functional printer suitable for both text and photo printing. It uses Epson DuraBrite(TM) pigment ink for high quality, sharp, vibrant photo prints that are durable, water and smudge resistant on plain and Epson specialty papers with fade resistance of up to 80 years. The Stylus CX3500 has a recommended price of $279.
The Epson Stylus CX1500 is an entry level MFP and is ideal for first time home users wanting high quality scanning, PC-free copying and printing from an easy to use machine. The Stylus CX1500 has a recommended price of $199.
