An Epson paper for sharing, keeping or framing photos

August 2006

Sydney 7 August 2006: Epson is making it easier for retailers to stock and sell its quality photo papers by colour coding the paper range into three user segments, providing point of sale support and offering reduced cost starter packs through its distributors.

With two new photo papers in the range, Epson has the right paper choice for every customer, and has made it easy for the retailer to recommend a paper that suits the customer’s immediate needs.

Using the simple guide of photos worth sharing, keeping or framing, the customer can select either Glossy Photo Paper for sharing, Premium Glossy Photo Paper for keeping in albums, or Ultra Glossy Photo Paper for framing or display photos.

For every day, affordable photos that are worth sharing with family and friends Epson has introduced 225 gsm Glossy Photo Paper in A4 packs of 20 and 6x4 packs of 50.

For quality glossy photos to keep in an album Epson’s 255 gsm Premium Glossy Photo Paper is available in A4 packs of 20 and 6x4 packs of 50.

And for those outstanding photos that the customer wants to proudly display on their desk or in a frame Epson recently introduced 300 gsm Ultra Glossy Photo Paper in A4 packs of 20 and 6x4 packs of 50.

Epson’s Director of Marketing Communications Mike Pleasants said Epson’s photo papers and inks give retailers an excellent margin and are more than competitive with the alternatives on price, quality and performance. Retailers will ensure repeat visits from their customers if they recommend genuine Epson consumables.

“We regularly get complaints from customers whose photos are not printing properly. The most frequent reason is that they are not using genuine Epson paper or genuine Epson ink, so their Epson printer can not optimally apply ink to the paper. As soon as they start using genuine Epson consumables they get the quality they expect from Epson,” Mr Pleasants said.

“The recent tests from Henry Wilhelm and Consumer Reports in the US point to the same conclusion: you get the best quality longest lasting photos with the least printer problems if you use the printer vendor’s recommended ink and paper.”

Mr Pleasants said market research showed that Epson printer owners have a much greater loyalty to using genuine Epson ink and paper than for any other printer vendor, again giving retailers who stock Epson consumables an edge in customer service and reliability.

Epson papers and inks are available through Epson consumables distributors.
