Numerous Epson technologies have been brought together to form the basis of the new printers, contributing to their extremely high printing speed (up to 20m per hour) and outstanding print quality.
These technologies include:
New Micro Piezo Print Head, is the very latest in micro piezo inkjet technology - featuring 180 nozzles per colour, a 280 per cent increase on earlier models, including the Epson Stylus Pro 9000 series.
Auto Print Head Optimization Systems (APHOS), which is a laser enhanced auto-detection technology designed to detect clogging before printing a new page, taking only four seconds to complete clogging detection on all 1080 print head nozzles. Where clogging is detected, the print head is cleaned automatically, promoting unattended printing and ensuring maximum print quality and integrity.
Photo Accelerator Technology (PAT), which is a card that improves data processing,
compression and transfer algorithms.
Variable-Sized Droplet Technology (VSDT), which ensures precise control of the new Micro Piezo print head, enabling ‘free distribution’ of ink droplets ranging down to five picolitres in size. Each nozzle on the Micro Piezo head is capable of producing three different size dots in one pass, producing high print quality at a fast speed.
500cc Intellidge® Large Ink Cartridge System, which supports lowered running costs and unattended operation by means of 500ml ink tanks (230 per cent greater than the Epson Stylus Pro 9500) and an on-screen status monitor, indicating remaining ink volume in real time.
