Epson launches new 1900 Series high image quality projectors

August 2014

New models EB-1985WU, EB-1980WU, EB-1975W and EB-1970W

SYDNEY, 25 August 2014 – Epson today announced that it has launched its new 1900 series of high image quality, mid-range projectors. The range, consisting of models EB-1985WU, EB-1980WU, EB-1975W and EB-1970W, boasts a stunning array of new features and functions that include high image quality with WUXGA resolution, rich connectivity and functionality and easy installation and maintenance.

Epson Australia General Manager for its Business Division Craig Heckenberg said, “The 1900 series is ideal for corporate and classroom environments where large flat panel displays (FPD) with high brightness and resolution are required. With that in mind it’s actually more cost efficient to install projectors from the new 1900 series than a FPD as there is no wall mounting involved and all models are able to be used as desk projectors. In addition, considering the compact chassis of the 1900 series, each model can project extremely bright and clear images with high contrast levels and colour lumen output up to 300 inches in size in high definition.”

All models in the 1900 range enjoy very high image quality with up to 5000 lumens and WUXGA resolution which, in practical terms, means incredibly sharp images even on very large screens. WUXGA resolution provides users with not only a broad workspace but also greater flexibility. The enhanced resolution allows information-rich content such as complex figures to be displayed on a large scale in Full HD without distortion or reduction in size. Thanks to the higher resolution WUXGA and a newly developed lens, sharpness and focus levels have also greatly been improved on the 1900 range of projectors.

High resolution and excellent picture quality aren’t the only improvements in the new EB-1985 and EB-1975 as the projectors now boast rich connectivity which in turn enables smarter meetings. The new connectivity functions now include Screen Mirroring with Wi-Fi certified Miracast technology and Intel® WiDi, iProjection and Network Projection. Wi-Fi Certified Miracast is a particularly useful Wi-Fi application which allows easy wireless transmission of Full HD (1080p) video and sound from EB-1985WU and EB-1975WU projectors without any complicated set up and can send images in Screen Mirroring mode without any cable connections. The Intel-developed WiDi is also based on Wi-Fi certified Miracast technology and supports additional functions such as guaranteed image and sound quality.

In addition to easy screen mirroring, the 1900 range boasts additional broad functionality including Auto Keystone Correction which removes the need for the projector to be in the centre of the table, Auto Power On as soon as the projector detects the input signal from a PC that has been connected via RGB cable and Split Screen which allows inputs from two separate sources to be displayed side by side on the same screen at a sharp 960x600 pixels on each half screen thanks to the WUXGA resolution.

The 1900 series continues the long Epson tradition of easy installation and maintenance in particular with the newly improved Focus Help function which helps customers and installers easily adjust focus even when mounting a projector away from a screen. There is also a newly added Lamp Regulator Function on the 1900 series which automatically adjusts image brightness according to ambient light levels giving more efficient power usage.

Current RRP (inc. GST) of the new 1900 series is as follows: EB-1970W - $2,199.00, EB-1975W - $2,299.00, EB-1980WU - $1,999.00 and the EB-1985WU - $2,399.00 and the new 1900 range of high image quality projectors will be available from the beginning of September 2014 onwards through authorised Epson dealers.
