Compact low-lost solution for merchandise and décor production

SYDNEY, 29 October 2019 – After unveiling a pre-release sample at Print Ex, Epson Australia has announced the final specifications, pricing, and launch date for the SureColor F560. A world-first, this compact 24-inch dye-sublimation printer will ship as a package complete with ink, media, and software. Designed for small business and fine art applications it combines compact size with high format flexibility, and a low cost of ownership.

The SureColor F560 joins Epson’s extensive and successful F series range. Designed to replace screen printing, these simple, efficient, and easy to use machines work in conjunction with a heat press to enable production of a wide range of durable items from metal signage and photo prints to soft signage, custom cabinetry, clothing, décor, and merchandise.

The SC-F560 is aimed at promotion and fine art applications. Designed for low volume and ad-hoc work, it features flexible media handling and a tank ink system and produces images that are bright and colourful, in super-high 2400x1200 dpi max resolution. It uses extremely cost-effective ink and will ship as a complete package for quality production with minimum fuss.

The dye sublimation process suits materials that have moderate heat-resistance and will accept a polyester coating including ceramic, glass, metal, wood, certain plastics, fibreglass and polycarbonates. It can also be used for fabric that contains 50% or more artificial content including polyester, Lycra and neoprene. When images are sublimated, the resulting products have extremely high durability and when applied to fabrics Oeko-Tex certification ensures they are safe to use by all age groups.

The SC-F560 uses Epson UltraChrome ink that is applied with the latest PrecisionCore printhead and Precision Dot processing technology to achieve the best possible image quality. When combined with the sublimation process, despite using only 4 inks, it enables a colour gamut and gradation level that rivals traditional print processes with 6 or 8 inks.

The SC-F560 is designed to facilitate flexible production with an efficient workflow and it supports roll and sheet based stocks and has a convenient pop-up A3/A4 multi-sheet feeder. It can be used on a desk with a smart hold on exit that ensures prints don’t get damaged or it can alternatively be floor mounted with an optional stand that includes a media bin. It will produce a sellable A1 fabric print in just over a minute and a high resolution hard surface A4 print in under a minute.

Clever and efficient, ink is held in a convenient 400 ml tank system. Tanks are refilled using cost-effective 140 ml bottles. Refilling is quick and simple and can even be undertaken while printing is underway.

Concurrent with the release of the SC-F560, Epson has announced a range of transfer media in both sheet and roll format. The media has been customised for optimum results with UltraChrome ink on both fabric and hard surface materials.

The printer ships complete with a Mac and Windows driver for operation with standard graphic software. Customers who register their purchase will also qualify for a copy of Epson Edge Print. This simple and powerful application is designed to enable professional quality imaging at the push of a button.

The SureColor F560 will commence shipping in Australia on 25 November with New Zealand following in December. It will cost $4,995 including tax complete with a litre of ink, 30 m2 of media and a three year service package. Bonus Edge Print software will be mailed to registered purchasers commencing late December.
