Sydney 20 April 2004: Epson Australia has revamped the distribution strategy for Point of Sale [POS] devices marketed by its Business Systems Division, adding two new national distributors alongside DH Technology.
Business Manager for Epson’s Business Systems Division, Jason Whiley, said the aim is to have a broader distribution model that gives more direct access for resellers and dealers.
“We want to increase our market penetration and market share for our POS products, and having three national distributors servicing a wider range of our competitors’ dealers and systems integrators will help us achieve that,” Jason said.
“DH has served us extremely well as our sole distributor for 12 years now, but the market is changing and our dealers and resellers are demanding more choices,” Jason said.
Following a selection process Epson has appointed POS POS and Unique Micro Design as national distributors from April 2004.
“We will be working with our three national distributors to roll out the new distribution structure through a series of roadshows to dealers and resellers around Australia in the coming months,” Jason said.
“We are confident that, as our leading edge technology gains greater exposure throughout the dealer and reseller network, Epson will continue to grow market share in POS systems.”
