Epson adds two ultra portable energy efficient projectors to its corporate multimedia family

Sydney 16 October 2006: Epson has released two new 3LCD projector models - the EMP-1710 and EMP-1700 - in its family of ultra portable projectors for the corporate and education markets. These projectors are expected to help Epson maintain its position as the leading projector vendor in the Australian market.

The EMP-1710, weighing just 1.6kg and with 2700 ANSI lumen lamp brightness, is the lightest, brightest and most energy efficient in its class, and delivers superb picture quality even in bright rooms.

The slim and portable EMP-1700, at 1.6kg and with 2200 ANSI lumen lamp brightness, is perfect for highly mobile presenters looking for easy set up and quick shut down.

They join the EMP-1715 wireless multimedia projector that has the world's first USB Plug and Play connection as part of Epson's family of ultra portable corporate projectors.

Epson sells more projectors in both the global and Australian markets than any other projector brand.

Both the EMP-1710 and EMP-1700 can 'quick start' in just 5 seconds and be instantly turned off, thanks to Epson's revolutionary and energy saving E-TORL lamp. The E-TORL lamp delivers high levels of brightness at lower power consumption producing 12.9 ANSI lumen of brightness per watt of power consumed in the EMP-1700 and 15.3 ANSI lumen per watt in the EMP-1710, making them the most energy efficient projectors in their class. And because the E-TORL lamp uses less energy without losing brightness, heat output is reduced.

For smooth delivery of presentations and to bring the audience attention from screen to presenter, both the EMP-1700 and EMP-1710 have an AV mute slide so presentations can be suspended and resumed seamlessly. Moving the AV mute slide across the lens blanks the screen, and the projector dims the lamp and slows the fan to reduce background noise.

Even with their tiny size and ultra portability, Epson's 3LCD technology in the EMP-1710 and EMP-1700 - and all Epson projectors - produces bright and natural images. A smooth and sharp playback ensures there is no colour break-up in the image, so viewing is easier on the eye.

The EMP-1710 has an RRP of $2699 and the EMP-1700 has an RRP of $2399 and both projectors are available through Epson projector dealers.
