Epson WorkForce Pro range optimises office productivity and profit

Epson is aiming to make SMEs more profitable and productive with its new range of WorkForce™ Pro multifunction printers that can cut printing costs by up to 50% per page and reduce power consumption by up to 70% over comparable colour laser printers, and are faster than comparable inkjet printers (not to mention lasers).

Drawing on its heritage and experience supporting businesses with sophisticated colour management, energy-saving microelectronics, precision printing, and high efficiency factory automation systems and robotics, Epson has engineered the WorkForce Pro range to optimise office productivity.

The Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4540, WP-4530, WP-4590 and WP-4090 feature super fast automatic two-sided printing - up to 53% faster than comparable inkjet models in duplex printing mode and 15% faster during single sided printing, remote and mobile printing, and use up to 70% less power than laser printers.

“Designed with the busy small office front of mind, these printers will enhance workflow efficiency and add dollars to the bottom line - a welcome return for all small business owners and managers,” said Mike Pleasants, Director of Marketing Communications for Epson Australia.

“The WorkForce Pro range adds some very business-like features for high print volume multitasking offices, such as included auto duplexer for two sided printing, scanning, faxing and copying, extra large ink cartridges to ensure fewer changes, and a very robust duty cycle of up to 20,000 pages,” said Mr Pleasants.

“This is a serious and profitable addition to our successful home office and small business range of inkjet printers, with some very obvious speed and low cost advantages over the traditional office laser printer.”

Super Fast auto two-sided print speeds
The WorkForce Pro range delivers professional quality, two-sided colour prints at super fast speeds, making it easy to increase productivity, without compromising quality. Boasting two-sided print speeds of 9.2 ISO ppm (black) and 7.1 ISO ppm (colour), these printers are 53% faster than comparable models in duplex printing mode and 15% faster during single sided printing.

Ultra efficient paper handling
The WorkForce Pro 4540 boasts two 250-sheet paper trays and includes an 80-page tray for envelopes, labels and specialty media for efficient paper handling. Additionally, the two-sided Automatic Document Feeder will fax, copy and scan one- and two-sided originals.

High-speed faxing
The 30-page Automatic Document Feeder enables quick faxing of one or two-sided documents. Faxing speed is as fast as 3 seconds per page, including 180 page memory capacity with storage of up to 60 numbers. For enhanced productivity, PC-Fax6 is included allowing a fax to be sent directly from a networked computer.

Change cartridges less often
Replace only the colour you need with affordable, extra large capacity 676XL individual ink cartridges that can print up to four reams of paper at a time before changing cartridges - a yield of around 2400 pages in black and 1200 in colour.

Epson Connect
The WorkForce Pro range delivers a new paradigm of mobile printing convenience. Epson Connect and other supported services give users the freedom to print photos, documents and web pages wirelessly over a home network, or even remotely from anywhere in the world. Epson Connect comprises Epson Connect Email Print, which allows customers to print electronic mail and file attachments by sending them to an e-mail enabled Epson printer; Epson iPrint support, that empowers users to access, print and save photos and documents on iOS devices, scan them to their devices or send them via email.

Support for AirPrint enables direct wireless printing from iOS devices, without the need for additional drivers or software downloads. Google Cloud Print support allows users to print out documents, spreadsheets and presentations stored on the Google cloud. This is ideal for Epson users who need to create, access, edit and print their documents while on the move. Google Cloud Print is compatible with a wide variety of mobile devices.

Built-in wireless networking
The WorkForce Pro 4540 and 4530 are Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™ enabling networking which delivers up to 2.5 times the performance of the previous 802.11g. The WorkForce Pro 4530 will connect to wireless networks in seconds, allowing printing from virtually anywhere in the office.

Convenient scanning features
The WorkForce Pro range will scan and save electronic copies of printed reports, or turn documents into editable text with the OCR software included. Additional features include scan-to-PDF. The wireless connection enables the user to select a computer to send a file to the printer’s USB port and allows files to be uploaded straight to the PC.

Laser sharp text and vibrant graphics
Exclusive to Epson DURABrite® Ultra Ink is a versatile pigment based, four colour ink which delivers brilliant, ultra-sharp detail on plain and specialty papers. These fast drying inks deliver durable prints that are water, fade and smudge resistant, as well as highlighter friendly.
