Sydney, 28 March 2012: Epson has expanded its range of high performance Epson WorkForce® Pro inkjet business printers adding the WorkForce® Pro WP-4590 multifunction printer and WorkForce® Pro WP-4090 single function printer that both support Printer Control Language (PCL) and Postscript, increasing productivity and reducing printing costs for small to medium-sized offices.
The Epson WorkForce Pro WP-4590 and WorkForce Pro WP-4090 deliver the world’s fastest double-sided printing, remote and mobile printing, and use up to 70% less power than comparable laser printers.*

The WorkForce Pro WP-4590 and WorkForce Pro WP-4090 are engineered for businesses, value added resellers and systems integrators installing and maintaining company-wide distributed office systems, with industry-standard print emulations — plug and play with PS3, PCL6 and ESC/P — for simple and seamless integration into enterprise operating systems.
With 50% lower cost per page than comparable colour laser printers, the world’s fastest double-sided printing — ideal for busy workgroups — and using up to 70% less energy than comparable lasers, these printers offer significant productivity gains and cost savings.*
The extra large XXL Epson DURABrite® Ultra ink cartridge capacity can produce up to 3400 printed pages — almost seven reams of paper — per cartridge to allow longer unattended print runs, while the optional second paper tray and rear-feed tray for specialty media means up to 580 A4 sheets can be used for large jobs. The rear feed tray allows easy loading of envelopes, labels and other specialty media up to 250gsm, covering all office printing needs.
As with all Epson WorkForce Pro printers the WorkForce Pro WP-4590 and WorkForce Pro WP-4090 provide simple and superb mobile printing convenience, with Epson Connect and other supported services giving users the freedom to print photos, documents and web pages from smartphones and tablets wirelessly over a network, or even remotely from anywhere in the world.
Epson Connect comprises Epson Connect Email Print*, which allows customers to print electronic mail and file attachments by sending them to an e-mail enabled Epson printer; Epson iPrint* support that empowers users on iOS or Android devices to print anytime to a nearby wireless Epson printer, and scan and save photos and documents to their devices, send them via email, or upload to cloud services such as Box.net, Dropbox, Evernote® or Google® Apps.
Support for AirPrint* enables direct wireless printing from iOS devices, without the need for additional drivers or software downloads. Google Cloud Print* support allows users to print documents, spreadsheets and presentations stored in Google Apps. This is ideal for Epson users who need to create, access, edit and print their documents while on the move. Google Cloud Print is compatible with a wide variety of mobile devices.
The built-in wireless networking (802.11n) in the WorkForce Pro WP-4590 and WorkForce Pro WP-4090 delivers up to 2.5 times the performance of the previous 802.11g standard, and these printers will connect to wireless networks in seconds, allowing printing from virtually anywhere in the office.
Epson DURABrite® Ultra resin-coated pigment ink produces brilliant colour and ultra-sharp text and photo quality prints at 4800 x 1200 dpi for professional results. DURABrite Ultra ink is fast drying so all prints are water, fade and smudge resistant and highlighter friendly.
The 30 page Auto Document Feeder on the WorkForce Pro WP-4590 allows fast double sided faxing, copying and scanning while the flexible options include scan to PDF or JPEG formats with files delivered to computer, email or USB. High-speed faxing in black or colour is always available.
