- Placing the original on the Stylus CX3900's scanning surface
- Placing your choice of paper (plain or, for best results, Genuine Epson) in the document feeder
- Use the newly designed control panel to set your copy preferences, such as paper type and quality
- Press either the black–and–white or colour copy print button
