In building on the enormous advances made with Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink, Epson developed two new inks – Vivid Magenta and Vivid Light Magenta – which utilise a newer high-density form of magenta pigment inks.
With the introduction of the two new inks to the Epson UltraChrome K3 ink family, the Stylus Photo R2880 utilises an eight-colour ink system, giving it the ability to generate prints that draw on a significantly expanded gamut – especially in blue and magenta – on Glossy, Matte and Fine Art papers.
Wide colour gamut: Epson UltraChrome K3 inks are renowned for their wide gamut and accurate colour rendition with virtually no colour twist. With the addition of Vivid Magenta and Light Vivid Magenta the wide colour gamut already achieved by Epson UltraChrome K3 has expanded further, making difficult colours easier to reproduce.
Dramatically reduced metamerism: The pigment ink characteristics of Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta help to achieve more consistent looking prints, even when viewed under different light sources and conditions.
Excellent short term colour stability: When Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink with Vivid Magenta comes into contact with the paper, the ink quickly separates from the pigment particles as these are absorbed deep into the paper. As a result, colours become resistant to change and stabilise quickly, delivering stable, colour-accurate prints in as little as 30 minutes.
