Great Printer to have
WF-3640 has been such a great. It has never let me down. It works like charm and it installation is straightforward. Installation can be via usb cable or over WIFI. WIFI has been my preference. Great printer to have. You will not

Broken with error 0x97
I've had this printer for 3 years and 8 months and it just stopped working with error 0x97. This means it could be any number of issues, most likely main board or other hardware fault. There is no fix, all sugestions by Epson failed, as well as all suggestions found on the internet. I now have to buy another printer, and try to find one that uses the same ink cartridges so they are not wasted.
Print quality dropped about 12 months ago with smudges and lines across printed word. I always use original inks.

This product is suitable for small home office set up
I have enjoyed using this printer
Really like the WiFi - so no cords to computer
Can print from phone - so kids can print their homework
At times menus not straight forward - I have had to ask the kids occasionally about connection issues. But, always worked in the end.
Doesn't remember program setting from last print which can be annoying. I still haven't gone into finding how to do printing preferences. The only way I got round this was through presets which you can save, but I would just prefer to press start.
Printer cartridges easily changed, however takes quite a bit of time checking once replaced - annoying if you are in a hurry and kids need it, like yesterday!! haha
Quality of printout not bad either, and you have options to print 'best' or 'quick' print, which is good, so can save on ink. I know I put 3/5 for this, but that's because I know just how amazing printers can print these days though my work's printer. It is definetely good enough for assignments at 'best' print, but more than this, like photos, aren't bad, but prefer photo centre's and costs much less.
Other than this, it's a good little printer and better than a basic computer.
Please note, I purchased this printer in Dec 2016 and writing this review in March 2020, so have had it a while. No doubt there are more improvements by now.

Best printer and Scanning Features
Loved this product and scanning features i.e. Doubled sided and ability to scan loads of pages at one time but save to several files after telling software number of sides to save per file. Just very disappointed with support when extra large cassette leaked. First time used this size of ink cassette and always genuine Epson inks. After fixing it lasted 2 weeks until the problem happened again and could NOT fix. Very disappointed that printer could not be rescued. Eleanor
