Out of the box settings more than OK
This new Epson EH-TW8100 replaces an Epson EH-TW3200 that I've been using the last 20 months or so. Thus it took me little time to set it up due to familiarity with product line. Getting the projection size, focus and horizontal and vertical alignments were also a snap as all the knobs are easily reached from the front.
Then the surprise continues. Put in the Cirque 3D Blu Ray (IMAX produced) in my Oppo 95 and my white wall came to life with amazing colours and 3D depth better than I've experienced in the movie house. The 3D glasses also synced with the TW8100 without any fuss, working as soon as they were turned on.
So my wife and I proceeded to watch the whole Cirque show without adjusting anything else, just switching between Cinema, Dynamic and Living Room mode, trying out the different degrees of brightness.
The TW8100 sold itself very well to my wife who could have continued to be pouting as she was not warned of the projector upgrade.

Bright, high quality & easy setup
After checking reviews I chose the TW8100. It exceeded my expectations: very bright (on eco setting), high resolution, quiet. Plugged it in, set the focus etc and used the default settings. Superb picture quality with excellent brighness & contrast (needed for my eyes). Love it. Can't see why you would pay more for those 'top-line' projectors.
