New Epson STYLUS Photo 830U takes home Photo printing to new heights of ease and convenience

April 2003

Sydney 30 April 2003: New photolab functionality and greater convenience of use have been built-in to Epson's entry level 6 colour photo printer, the Epson STYLUS PHOTO 830U to create an incredibly easy to use high quality photo printer for the home user.

The STYLUS PHOTO 830U comes with Epson's creatively powerful PhotoQuicker 3.4 software to make photo selection and changes to photo layout and resizing quick and easy, and its Print Image Framer and P.I.F. Designer software mean images can be easily and quickly given a professional touch with standard or custom made borders and frames. This new version of PhotoQuicker includes improved features such as red-eye reduction, multiple display sizes, and in addition gives the user the choice between using PRINT Image Matching or Exif Print image data when printing an image.

PhotoQuicker also lets you choose true BorderFree edge-to-edge photo printing for many different paper sizes up to A4, including Epson's new Premium Glossy Photo Paper in Regular Photo size (100x150mm), for one stop printing of high quality photos at home.

Epson's patented software, ink and print head technologies combine in the PerfectPicture Imaging System to create superb quality text and photos with the STYLUS PHOTO 830U. At the heart of the PerfectPicture Imaging System is the MicroPiezo print head, which delivers super fast and accurately formed 4 picolitre ultra fine ink droplets at an incredible resolution of 5760 Optimised dots per inch using RPM Technology.

Home photo enthusiasts exploring the capabilities of their digital camera and STYLUS PHOTO 830U can break free of the sRGB colour confines of standard images with Epson's PRINT Image Matching (P.I.M.) software. The colour space information captured by a P.I.M./P.I.M. II-enabled digital camera is used by the STYLUS PHOTO 830Uto reproduce in print the camera's unique characteristics and design intentions.

The Epson-developed P.I.M. software allows the settings on digital cameras for image and print parameters - such as gamma, contrast, shadow, colour balance, noise reduction and custom scene - to be incorporated into automatic print modes such as portrait, landscape, macro and sport. P.I.M. II extends the introduction of the original P.I.M. and adds additional features allowing more information to be transferred from the digital still camera to the STYLUS PHOTO 830U, for even richer prints.

Connecting the STYLUS PHOTO 830U to a PC is a swift, sure and hassle free process with USB ports front and back.

With fast document printing alongside its high quality photo capabilities the STYLUS PHOTO 830U is a total printing solution in a single, powerful printer.

The Epson STYLUS PHOTO 830U is available immediately through Epson Australia's dealers and resellers and is expected to sell for around $299.
