Edge blending makes it easy to use multi-screen projection and achieve a seamless panoramic image, allowing colour and brightness to match up perfectly, even in areas that overlap. Some models are equipped with integrated edge blending technology, and some offer advanced edge blending with curved surface. With corner wall support, you can project on horizontal or vertical walls and create impressive out-of-box experiences. You can also use edge blending and corner-wall projection at the same time. While white brightness may be the traditional specification associated with lumens, a new colour brightness specification is an authoritative standard recently developed by the International Committee for Display Metrology (ICDM). This widely accepted standard measures the projected brightness of red, green, and blue light. If colour brightness is low, colours can look dull or dark, skin tones are reproduced poorly and important details can be lost.
Epson projectors use 3LCD technology with 3 chips to deliver vibrant, true-to-life and consistent images. Unlike 1-chip DLP projectors that use a colour wheel, Epson projectors do not force a tradeoff between white and colour brightness. Many manufacturers provide only one specification which states the white brightness (White Light Output). If colour brightness (Colour Light Output) is not listed, the actual number may be as low as 1/3 of the provided spec. Epson lists both specifications.
*Compared to leading 1-chip DLP business and education projectors based on MPD data, July 2011 through June 2012. Colour brightness (Colour Light Output) measured in accordance with IDMS 15.4. Colour brightness will vary depending on usage conditions.
