Life in the Colour Laser Fast Lane with the launch of the Epson AcuLaser C4000

June 2002

Sydney 24 June 2002: High speed, high quality colour laser printing is now a reality with the launch of Epson Australia's AcuLaser C4000, which delivers breathtaking full colour prints at speeds up to 4 times faster than traditional colour laser printers.

Designed to deliver on-demand colour printing to the small-to-medium business segment, the Epson AcuLaser C4000 utilises new Epson Quadra Beam Technology to simultaneously process all four colours (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), and transfer them onto the page from a single drum.

This enables the AcuLaser C4000 to print A4 documents at up to 16ppm in both monochrome and colour, with a stunning level of output quality.

Director of Marketing Communications for Epson Australia, Michael Pleasants, said.

"The Epson AcuLaser C4000 completes the missing piece of the colour printing puzzle. In the past, small to medium businesses had to choose between high quality colour laser printing and high-speed colour laser printing. You couldn't have both, it was an either-or proposition. With the Epson AcuLaser C4000, users can now enjoy the best of both worlds."

The secret to the success of the AcuLaser C4000 is its combination of new hardware technology with the traditional colour imaging disciplines for which Epson is renowned.

The lightweight, 4-2-1 tandem engine design guarantees accurate print registration at high speed and ensures that even very complex and demanding print jobs are processed quickly and efficiently. The new AcuLaser MicroPolymer toner uses smaller and more spherical toner particles that have a wax-based interior and a lower fusing temperature point.

This significantly reduces warm up time and ensures uniform coverage across the page, with improved toner stability and minimal waste. In addition, the Epson AcuLaser C4000 utilises Epson AcuLaser Fine Dot Control Technology, boosting the printer's original 1200dpi resolution to 2400dpi.

Designed to support demanding workgroups the AcuLaser C4000 comes with a 500 sheet paper cassette and 100 sheet multipurpose tray as standard - expandable to 1,600 sheets with the optional addition of two x 500 sheet cassettes. The integrated network adapter is standard on all models, as is the internal duplex unit.

The Epson AcuLaser C4000 is available for immediate delivery.
