User-exchangeable black ink modes

Exchangeable black ink modes allow the use of just one printer for all media types. The printer can utilise two different black ink modes, Photo Black or Matte Black. This innovative solution optimizes the black in density for various media type, dramatically improving the final print quality.

The standard Photo Black ink mode can be used for any media type with professional results. However, for certain Epson media types such as Velvet Fine Art, Enhanced Matte, and UltraSmooth Fine Art, using the Matte Black ink mode will dramatically increase your black optical density for even better print quality.

Consistent colour under various lighting conditions

The colours of a print produced in your studio can look different when viewed elsewhere using different light sources. The characteristics of new pigment chemistry and reduced colour ink consumption virtually eliminate this effect, known as metamerism.

Improved productivity

Superior short-term colour stability of Epson UltraChrome K3 Ink allows for high-precision proofing and speed-up of operations.

Superb grey balance and precise colour control enhance the ICC profile and shorten workflow by minimising retouching, to reproduce colours faithful to the original image data.

Ink lightfastness ratings are based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media, displayed indoors, under glass or UV plex. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity, and atmospheric conditions. Epson does guarantee longevity of prints. For maximum print life, display all prints under glass, UV plex, lamination or properly store them. See www.wilhelm-research.com for details.
