Epson launches EMP-9300 - its highest resolution fully functioned projector.

November 2003

Epson, the world leader in high-performance projectors and the market leader worldwide in sales of data projectors, has launched its top of the range, fully functioned projector, the EMP-9300 with SXGA+ resolution and an estimated 7000 hour lamp life.

Designed for situations requiring accurate colour and sharpness rendition for detailed graphic applications, such as CAD, medical imaging, simulators and more, the EMP-9300 is the top of the range of Epson’s installable series of high performance projectors with SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) resolution, 2,500 ANSI lumens brightness and 1100:1 contrast ratio.

This feature-rich, value packed projector delivers extremely precise image quality through its newly designed 35mm [1.4-inch] LCD panels, combined with its reliable, whisper-quiet (33dB) performance, making it ideal for lecture theatres, conferences, and promotional activities.

The EMP-9300 also offers out-of-the-box networking capabilities, password protection to reduce unauthorized use and theft, extra long lamp life which reduces cost of ownership, and several advanced, yet simple, setup and installation options.

The EMP-9300 not only has Epson's most advanced imaging technology to date, it provides convenient set-up features that are especially useful once the projector has been installed in a fixed location.

A powered lens enables users to zoom and focus using the projector's remote control, while a new onscreen interface called Quick Corner(TM) allows users to make comprehensive keystone corrections for a totally square picture. Several optional lenses are also available for wide angle configurations and for short and long throw distances.

Where more than one EMP-9300 is used, such as for panoramic applications, a multi-screen adjustment feature allows users to control each unit individually with one remote control and to make brightness and colour level adjustments on a computer over a LAN or RS232 interface.

Included with the EMP-9300 are several new networking features, including EasyManagement(TM), which enables users to monitor, maintain and control the projector from a remote location using Epson's utility programs. The projector also has a built-in RJ-45 Ethernet port that when connected to a network provides important management functions such as checking the power status or lamp hours, in addition to powering the projector on/off.

And an e-mail notification system is available to alert network users about vital issues related to the projector's temperature, fan and lamp.

Two password-protection features reduce chances of theft and disables operation of the projector during unauthorised use. Power-On Protect requires the use of a password to turn on the projector, while a timer function allows organisations such as rental companies to place customised time limits on usage. Another password-controlled feature called Logo Protect projects the user's logo each time the projector is powered on, making it less attractive for thieves to try to on-sell a stolen projector.

The EMP-9300 is available from today through the Epson specialist audio visual channel and is expected to retail for approximately $20,999 including GST. For detailed specifications of the EMP-9300 and other Epson projectors visit www.epson.com.au.
