Rated 4 out of 5 by from The Artisan 730 is a jack of all trades I recently bought an Epson 730. I was a bit hesitant at first, as there were other smaller printers there that claimed to have most or all of the same features however upon closer inspection, the Artisan 730 stood out for several reasons. For starters, it has Wireless Network capability, which allows me to wirelessly connect to the printer. This frees up my USB ports for other items such as keyboards, mice or external hard drives. Despite being wirelessly linked, time before first page printing is still within a very acceptable 10-15 seconds. Wireless technology has been around for nearly a decade in one form or another and only now is it becoming commonplace in printers (most noticeably in the last 12 months) with most of the other printers in the 730s range being 'Wireless Network Ready'. It is a multi-function printer - scanner, copier, printer. While scanning it can achieve a maximum resolution of 4800 dp. As a printer it has an output of up to 40 pages per minute which was almost double what other models were claiming to be capable of. Loading and changing of the ink cartridges is easy as they are not a part of the inkjet assembly, they are located in a easily accessible static recess off to the right hand side, which - when the access panel is opened - has enough room and clearance to allow easy removal and replacement. Where the 730 really shines is it's photo software #included# and it's support for printing photos. It has a paper tray that is capable of holding around 100 A4 pages however it also has a tray for varying sizes of photo paper, allowing you to be ready to print photos or documents without having to change the paper #unless you're printing A4 photos#. It also has a CD printing capability, something I have not encountered in a printer outside of a commercial setting, allowing for personalisation of CDs and DVDs made at home. It is also capable of creating pictures to colour in from photos as well as being able to create print-ruled paper with a photo watermark - a must have for those with children to give them entertainment and to be able to have things unique to them in school or even at home amongst their family. Last but not least is the 2.5" LCD display and operations menu. Though it is a small screen it has a sharp resolution which means you don't have to struggle to read it. The interface panel is touch sensitive and the active interface options light up when available, the only button is the recessed power button which gives the 730 a smooth, high tech look. Combined with it's many features this makes the Artisan 730 a jack of all trades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product This printer is now 10 years old and is still performing very well. Age and the cost of cartridges has resulted in it being pensioned off.
