Australian Consumer Law Prescribed Statement
Our Products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Products repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Introduction
This Express Warranty is in addition to other rights or remedies that You may have under the ACL in relation to your Product.

Definitions
In this Express Warranty:

  1. "ACL" means the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and regulations.
  2. "Consumable" include (without limitation) ink cartridges, paper, maintenance tanks.
  3. "Epson Australia" means Epson Australia Pty Ltd ABN 91 002 625 783.
  4. "Quality Refurbished Product" means a refurbished Product that's unused or had very little use, except for checking and quality verification by Epson's own service department to ensure it performs properly. These Products are sold by Epson Australia, and were previously referred to as a Factory Second.
  5. "Genuine" means manufactured by or for a member of the Seiko-Epson group of companies.
  6. "Onsite" means at your business premises in Australia.
  7. "Product" means a Genuine WorkForce Pro Enterprise Printer supplied new by Epson Australia, being one of the following models:-
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C4000 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C5000 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise AM-C6000 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C17590 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20590 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-M20590 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20600 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C20750 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
    • Epson WorkForce Enterprise WF-C21000 & related options (Finisher/Bridge & High Capacity Unit)
  8. "Marketing Initiative" includes any competition or promotion initiated by Epson Australia.
  9. "Purchase Date" means the date of a Product’s first purchase from Epson Australia or a Stockist.
  10. "Proof of Purchase" means a legible copy of your purchase receipt or invoice for the Product.
  11. "Specifications" means the performance characteristics of a Product set out from time to time on Epson Australia’s website.
  12. "Stockist" means an authorized Epson reseller or dealer.
  13. "Service Agent" means a person or a company authorized by Epson Australia to repair a Product.
  14. "You" means the End User and “your” has a corresponding meaning.
  15. "Part" means any spare part or other component that forms a part of the Product and which may be replaced from time to time.

Express Warranty Terms
Epson Australia offers an Onsite Express Warranty on your Product subject to the following conditions.

The following standard warranty terms & conditions are applicable if You purchase the Product from an Epson Australia dealer:

  1. Subject to the limitations set out below, Epson Australia’s standard warranty will provide the End User with next business day on-site service & support EITHER for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase OR until a maximum print count of 200,000 pages is recorded by the Product (whichever occurs first).
  2. This warranty covers Parts for the Product (including print head) and labour relating to the warranty work.
  3. This standard warranty includes unlimited technical phone & email support.
  4. This warranty will only apply to a Product located at the premises of an End User that are within a radius of 50 kilometres from the General Post Office in the following Australian cities:
  • Sydney
  • Melbourne
  • Brisbane
  • Adelaide
  • Perth
  • Canberra
  1. Reasonable travel and accommodation charges for the Authorised Service Agent will apply if warranty service is required for a Product located outside the radius limitations in clause 4.
  2. The End User will be requested to provide a print page count prior to a service agent Onsite attendance or as and when requested by Epson
  3. In case of an established Product failure that occurs during the standard warranty limitation parameters set out above, Epson Australia, at its complete discretion, will either repair or replace the Product.
  4. If Epson Australia elects to replace a Product, no more than the unexpired balance of the warranty limitation parameters set out in clause 1 will apply to the replacement Product.
  5. If a Service Agent provides Onsite support or service but finds that the Product has exceeded the print count limit under this warranty, the End User must pay its current service fee and reasonable travel and accommodation costs on a return basis (if applicable) unless the End User elects to purchase an Epson Cover Plus service pack referred to in clause 10 to extend this standard warranty.
  6. Epson CoverPlus service packs can be purchased at additional cost, in 300,000, 500,000 or 750,000 print volume options to extend the standard warranty service coverage period. Express Warranty Exclusions
This Express Warranty will not apply if any of the following occurs during the applicable Express Warranty period stated above:

  1. This warranty is not applicable to other Epson accessories and consumables relating to the Product
  2. This warranty does not cover any periodical replacement Parts listed in Schedule 1 or any preventative maintenance
  3. If a Service Agent is requested to provide On-Site support or service but finds that any fault is not directly attributable to a failure covered by this warranty , the End User must pay its current service fee and reasonable travel and accommodation costs on a return basis (if applicable)
  4. Any consequential loss or damage claimed to arise from use of the Product is not covered by this warranty. In particular (but without limitation) Epson Australia will not be liable for actual or expected revenue loss or for any corruption or loss of data claimed to arise from any failure covered by the terms of this standard warranty.

  5. This warranty will not apply if any of the following events or circumstances:
  1. A Product’s serial number or any rating label is removed or changed in any way;
  2. A Product is serviced or repaired or modified by anyone other than by a Service Agent;
  3. You use your Product in excess of the Specifications or contrary to the technical or operating environment guidelines recommended in the Epson Australia user guide or manual;
  4. A Product’s malfunction or failure to perform according to Epson Australia's Specifications results from:
     
  1. deliberate or accidental damage;
  2. excessive use, neglect or modification by or on behalf of an End User;
  3. the use of incorrect voltage or a power surge;
  4. any form of computer virus;
  5. the use of non-Genuine consumables, software, replacement Parts, accessories and/or interfacing; or
  6. any Parts require repair or replacement as a result of normal wear and tear, corrosion or stain.

 

Express Warranty Claim Procedure
If You wish to make a claim under this Express Warranty, You must do the following:

  1. End User must call the Epson Support Centre at 1300-361-054.
  2. End User will be asked to provide the Product serial number at the time of the call.
  3. A Support Centre agent will assess the reported problem and may escalate it within Epson Australia for further assessment.
  4. If Epson Australia determines that an On-Site service is required, an Authorised Service Agent will contact the End User and will attend the End User’s premises on next business day or on an alternative date if that next day is not suitable or feasible.




Spare Parts & Consumable Warranty
For Australia, our Products and Spare Parts come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (“ACL”). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Products repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

    Spare Parts under $500 - (excluding GST):
  • Whether provided during an Express Warranty repair, under Epson CoverPlus, or bought outside of warranty, these parts have a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the Product's Express Warranty or Epson CoverPlus, whichever is longer.

  • Spare Parts over $500 - (excluding GST):
  • If provided free during an Express Warranty repair or under Epson CoverPlus, these Parts carry a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the Product's Express Warranty or Epson CoverPlus, whichever is longer.
  • If purchased outside of Express Warranty or Epson CoverPlus, these Parts have a 12-month warranty.
The Spare Parts warranty will apply provided the following conditions are met:
  1. They are purchased and installed by an Epson authorised Service Agent
  2. The Product's Spare Parts are fitted to meets the standard Warranty terms and conditions available from Epson’s website
  3. They are purchased and installed by an Epson authorised Service Agent
  4. You use only Genuine Epson Consumables purchased from an Epson authorised reseller (for items that use Consumables)
  5. At the time of installation of the purchased Spare Parts your Product was not more than five years old from the date of purchase, otherwise the period of warranty will be 90 days.


Consumables
Consumables by their nature have a finite life. The Epson warranty against defects in workmanship or materials is for the lesser of a period of 90 days or the rated life of the Consumable as described in the user’s guide or service manual.

In the case of Lamps for projectors, some Lamps carry a specific Express Warranty for a specific period and this is detailed under our standard product warranty terms and conditions where applicable.


Non-Genuine Items
If You use non-Genuine Consumables, software, replacement Parts or accessories in or with your Product during the relevant Express Warranty period, You may damage the Product and may consequently invalidate this Express Warranty and You may incur the cost of return travel, labour and Parts for a Service Agent to repair or attempt to repair such damage.
