True 1200 dpi Resolution

Featuring true 1200 x 1200 dpi print resolution, the EPL-5800 delivers excellent contrast and shading in photos and illustrations and text that is clear and crisp.

Designed for Work Efficiency

The EPL-5800 has a number of features designed for increased work efficiency, including 10ppm print speed, advanced printer control language and standard 16Mb of RAM, (expandable to 256Mb) for fast processing speed. There's also an optional network card to allow the printer to be connected directly to a network.

USB and Parallel Interface for Full Compatibility

The EPL-5800 has a USB interface that provides high-speed data transfer with one quick connection and lets you plug and unplug the printer without turning off the power. USB is compatible with most computers running Windows 98 and Mac® OS 8.1 to 9.X. There's also an IEEE1284 bi-directional parallel interface with ECP mode compatibility.

Highly Intuitive Printer Driver and Status Monitor

EPSON's well-designed printer driver and on-screen status monitor make operation at-a-glance easy. The status monitor displays information on toner levels, paper size and paper direction, and shows the amount of paper remaining in the tray. In the event that a problem should occur, the status monitor makes it easy to identify.

Optional Adobe PostScript3

For greater versatility and productivity, the EPL-5800 can be configured for Adobe PostScript3 printing. Widely used for all types of commercial applications, Adobe PostScript3, provides high quality imaging and improved performance with a broad range of graphics and page layout applications.

650-Sheet Paper Capacity

The regular paper tray holds 150 sheets, and an optional 500-sheet tray fits neatly under the printer for a total capacity of 650 sheets. Both of these trays have covers to prevent objects and dust from falling on the paper. You can print on a variety of paper sizes, as well as labels, postcards and envelopes, and an optional face-up tray delivers the pages print side up and prevents curling of thicker sheets such as postcards.

Long-Life Supplies The EPL-5800 comes supplied with a toner cartridge that will print 6,000 pages and a photoconductor drum good for 20,000 pages. Both have long lifetimes, resulting in low per-page print costs.

EPL-5800 Bundles

There are three specially tailored configurations available in the EPL-5800 series:

• EPL-5800P
  The EPL-5800P offers all the standard features of the EPL-5800
  with the addition of Adobe PostScript 3, provides extra flexibility
  for printing PostScript files.
• EPL-5800NP
  This version includes all the standard features of the EPL-5800, as
  well as Adobe PostScript 3 and 100BaseTX, for connection to a
  variety of network platforms. This bundle is also suitable for iMAC
  and G3 connectivity and ideal to used for PostScript files within
  Macintosh environments.
• EPL-5800NPT
  This version is pre-configured with the 10BaseT/100BaseTX
  Ethernet card, allowing connection to a variety of network
  platforms. It also features Adobe PostScript 3 and a 500-sheet
  paper cassette for greater flexibility.
