Epson EcoTank Pro printers offer exceptional cost per page value when compared with laser printers due to the extremely low cost of replacement ink and extremely high yield.

Heat-Free Technology uses less power because it doesn't use heat to warm up. As inkjets have no fuser unit to heat, this results in significantly less electricity consumption.
Unlike laser printers which must preheat their fusing roller to process the entire page, the EcoTank Pro series does not require any preheating before printing.
This gives EcoTank Pro an advantage in a key ISO-defined metric of printing speed: first print out time (FPOT)2.
The EcoTank Pro series features an easy-refill ink tank system with a keyed bottle spout and tank inlet design that reduces the chance of accidental spillage. Refilling is simple and there's no need to squeeze the bottle. Just insert the spout into the inlet – the ink flow will stop automatically when the tank is full.
Black ink CPP of EcoTank Pro is 92% lower than laser printers thanks to Epson replacement ink bottles1
Average power consumption 98% lower compared to laser printers5
On average, an EcoTank Pro’s replacement ink bottle page yield is equivalent to roughly 2.47 of the best-selling colour laser printer black replacement toner cartridge6
As Heat-Free Technology requires no heat to warm up, printing starts quickly when the printer is switched on or woken from sleep

1 Calculation derived by comparing the cost per page (CPP) of an Epson T542 replacement black ink bottle of $0.0045 ($33.99 ÷ 7,500 pages) with the average of the best-selling Australian market colour laser printers with equivalent print speed’s (<30 ppm) replacement black toner cartridge CPP of $0.0622 ($188.60 ÷ 3,030 pages). 0.45 cents is 92.71% lower than 6.22 cents. Laser printers selected from the IDC Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker Q1 2024 shipments. CPP = cost per consumable ÷ number of printable pages.
2 Advantage based on the first print out time (FPOT) average of the Epson ET-5150, ET-5170, ET-5800 and ET-16600 (9.75 seconds) vs the average FPOT (12.92 seconds) of the best-selling Australian market colour laser printers with equivalent print speeds (<30 ppm). Laser printers selected from the IDC Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker Q1 2024 shipments. 9.75 seconds is 24.54% lower than 12.92 seconds.
3 Yields based on the ISO/IEC 24712 pattern with Epson's methodology. Actual ink
yields will vary considerably for reasons including images printed, print settings,
temperature and humidity.

5 Savings of 98% based on ISO 24712 standalone copy printing average power consumption of the Epson ET-5150, ET-5170, ET-5800 and ET-16600 (15.50 watts) vs the average (840.20 watts) of the best-selling Australian market colour laser printers with equivalent print speeds (<30 ppm). Laser printers selected from the IDC Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker Q1 2024 shipments. 15.50 watts is 98.15% lower than 840.20 watts.
6 Calculation derived by comparing the number of black laser toner cartridges of the best-selling Australian market colour laser printers with equivalent speeds (<30 ppm) required to print the equivalent number of pages that can be printed with one black Epson T542 refill ink bottle (7,500 pages). 7,500 pages (T542 black ink bottle yield) / 3,030 pages (average best-selling laser printer black toner yield) = 2.47. Laser printers selected from the IDC Quarterly Hardcopy Peripherals Tracker Q1 2024 shipments.
7 Average satisfaction rating of 91% based on customer service satisfaction surveys conducted by Epson Australia between June 2021 & October 2024.
