The Epson Stylus COLOUR 200 is a dazzling colour inkjet that comes ready for both colour and black printing right out of the box.

Not only does the new Epson Stylus COLOR 200 give users the best of both black and colour printing on plain paper, it does it even faster than its predecessor, the Epson Stylus COLOR IIs.

The Epson Stylus COLOR 200 combines advanced technology and affordable colour printing with high print resolutions of up to 720 x 360 dpi. Based on Epson's unique inkjet technology EPMACH, it uses short electrical pulses to charge and fire ink droplets (like a jet) out of the ink chamber. When this short electrical pulse is applied, it creates an effect rather like a bow being strung, and then contracts, making the ink droplet fly out of the chamber like an arrow. Each ink droplet is fired precisely from the chamber onto the paper delivering sharp, clear text and brilliant colour images - even on plain paper.

Positioned as the entry level colour inkjet, the Epson Stylus COLOR 200 builds on the success and reliability of its predecessor, but offers additional features such as new formula, quick drying inks, sharp crisp text and dazzling colour output.

With excellent built-in features including high print resolutions of 720 x 360 dpi, the Epson Stylus COLOR 200 also has, as standard, a range of resident bitmap and scalable fonts for maximum flexibility in document production. And, when black only text printing is required the interchangeable ink cartridges are easy to switch and offer users the flexibility to choose between "real" black only printing, or a mixture of composite black and colour printing.

The Epson Stylus COLOR 200 comes with a new printer driver that automatically adjusts colour settings and makes set-up fast and easy. It's compatible with both Windows 3.1 and Windows 95 operating systems, allowing high quality text and graphics printing from a wide range of applications. It also supports 'Plug and Play' and Image Colour Matching (ICM) and, features a convenient on-screen monitor that displays ink levels at a glance.

The Epson Stylus COLOR 200 has flexible print settings allowing users to select between 720, 360 or 180 print resolutions. For most colour printing, 360 dpi is a good choice. This resolution produces good quality text in less time and is also a good choice for every day graphics printing. When speed is important and draft quality is good enough the 180 dpi setting is available. This mode is faster and also conserves ink. When the best possible output is required the 720 dpi mode delivers the highest quality reproduction of both text and graphics.

For flexible paper handling, the standard sheet feeder holds up to 100 A4 sheets and is built-in for easy and versatile maintenance - plain paper, special coated paper, high quality glossy paper, inkjet transparencies and envelopes are readily accommodated.

Another new feature is the simplified two-button control panel which makes loading and ejecting paper fast and easy. It also has a new convenient indicator light which informs users when the ink is running low and its snap-in cartridge design makes ink cartridge replacement simple and effortless.

The small footprint design takes up minimal desk space and is ideal for the classroom, the home, home office or small business environment.
