Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best machine ever for scanning photos at home So simple and easy - managed to scan 3000 photos and label files in a logical and simple way - beats taking a deep breath and sending photos in the mail to a scanning company and hoping they dont lose them - costs the same if not cheaper and i can label and file photos logically - so automatic and easy to use software - so glad i bought it - now all my friends and family are borrowing it to do the same ...

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Hit and Miss I purchased this scanner based upon some glowing reviews online. It has been a tremendous let down. The quality of the photos is poor, they are grainy and it baffles me that the technology for photo scanning hasn't progressed in the last 10 years from when I bought my last flat bed scanner. But that is not the worst of it. The software stops working constantly. I have had to uninstall, re-install and update 4 times in 24 hours as the program stops working altogether. There is not sufficient support from Epson to troubleshoot the specific issue I am facing. Once the photos have passed through the scanner a blank screen opens with a blue button, no writing and pressing the button does absolutely nothing. I am beyond disappointed in the Epson FastFoto FF-680W.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Friendly to Oldies As a Great Grandma who has been entrusted with photos and documents of several generations I was struggling to find a way to put them all together for a family archive. My kids have never seen half of the photos, newspaper reports etc. I started by trying to scan each one on the photo copier, it worked to a degree but was so slow and cumbersome. I saw the Epsom FastFoto on the TV and immediately rang the store, yes they had one. I purchased it. Got home and unpacked the scanner, looked for instructions, ????? they must think everyone is tech savy. It was a bit of a battle but by following a pretty logical process I got connected, uploaded the software, loaded 20 photos of one of my children and pressed the button. Presto, absolutely magical. Scanned and on my computer screen in seconds. I then had to figure out how to upload a thing called Dropbox but there were some prompts so that was OK. Wow am I going to have fun with this. Family History in progress.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast, Simple and Compact Fast to setup and start scanning photos, very impressed simple to use. Have only done a few dozen but great results so far will try and update after a few thousand photos. Also very compact compared to a flatbed. Document app needs separate app icon to start.
