Back catalogue – Stylus Photo EX
Positioned as a new addition to the Stylus Photo range, the Epson Stylus Photo EX is the perfect printer for photo-reproduction, pre-proof graphics, advanced photo-editing and superior image printing. It combines industry-leading 1440 dpi resolution with a six-colour ink system and A3 paper handling (291mm max. print width) for large-format photo reproduction quality printing right-out-of-the-box.
Like the Epson Stylus Photo 700, the key to the Photo EX's outstanding photo reproduction quality and fast printing speed is Epson's unique Photo Reproduction Quality technology (PRQ) which brings together a number of advanced Epson innovations.
Collectively these advances are called the Epson PerfectPicture Imaging System and incorporate: Epson Micro Piezo technology, industry-leading 1440 dpi resolution, Epson AcuPhoto Halftoning, Six-colour (CcMmYK) QuickDry inks and, Epson Photo Papers.
The six-colour ink system adds light cyan and light magenta to the traditional palette of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. This, combined with Epson's unique technologies dramatically improve highlight rendering when printing photographs and results in natural looking colours, when dealing with the more subtle areas of images such as skin tones.
In addition, the Epson Stylus Photo EX can handle a range of paper sizes from A6 to A3 and panoramic and, supports a variety of media from plain paper to Photo Quality Glossy Film, inkjet transparencies, envelopes and Epson's new Photo Papers.
The new PhotoEnhance™ 2 function automatically adjusts the contrast, brightness, colour saturation and colour values - without affecting the original image. A new user-friendly interface features a convenient on-screen status monitor which provides up-to-the-minute information on the printer's status and ink levels and, minimises the inconvenience of running out of ink halfway through print jobs.
Advanced colour correction software is fully compliant with both the Windows 95 ICM and Macintosh ColorSync 2.0 colour matching systems and ensures accurate colour matching between monitor and printed output. For more advanced color management, users have the control to manually select levels of brightness, contrast, saturation and individual colour.
The optional RIP (Raster Image Processing) software, StylusRIP, is available for Windows and Macintosh users. It delivers true Adobe PostScript Level 2 colour output and Pantone colour profiles. By installing the optional StylusRIP software, users can convert the Epson Stylus Photo EX into a low cost PostScript printer.
For in-house design or professional colour proofs before going to film, the Epson Stylus Photo EX delivers top-of-the-line photographic quality at an affordable price.
