Australian Fashion Council

The Australian Fashion Council is the peak body for the Australian fashion and textile industry and champion and advocate for a prosperous, creative, and sustainable Australian fashion and textile industry.

Epson's partnership with the Australian Fashion Council (AFC) focuses on strengthening Australia's onshore manufacturing capability, developing future skills and creating new opportunities to support a more resilient and sustainable fashion industry. Together, Epson and the AFC are helping accelerate the transition towards a circular fashion economy by 2030.

A key initiative of the partnership is Australia's first Clothing Smart Factory feasibility study. Backed by Epson and supported by Investment NSW through its Fostering Innovation Sponsorship Program, the study is exploring a next-generation, technology-enabled manufacturing facility designed to bring garment production back onshore.

The Smart Factory will provide Australian brands with the opportunity to test ideas, undertake research and development, and produce small manufacturing runs at a commercially viable scale, helping lay the foundations for the future of advanced fashion manufacturing in Australia.
